Seems like heftige ABC-Kooperation, nachdem sie auch seine ersten Ausflüge ins Drehbuch-Schreiben für den Herbst aufgenommen haben. Obwohl die beide anderen erwähnten Leuts eher ins Fürchterliche gleiten.

Ach ja: Dollhouse kommt natürlich dort oben auch vor: "It's Joss Whedon..."

And there's some thought provoking stuff that's not even part of the plot (at least not yet) and some that is, like the pro-bono works of the "actives." There's a pervasion of the creepy lurking throughout this pilot. Different kinds too. There's a sci-fi creepy in it and there's a stain-on-your-soul kind in there too.

whedonesque macht uns höflich darauf aufmerksam, dass Dollhouse nun endlich eine für alle einsehbare imdb-page hat. Die Diskussionen sind schon fleißig im Gang, besonders cool sind die "Der Name ist scheiße!"/"Warum wurde es nicht schon abgesetzt?" (featuring wütende Babylon 5-Fans, die Firefly zerreißen und mit Andromeda vergleichen...) und - mein Favourite - die über die Generizität. Es fallen immer wieder Alias und Dark Angel (welches übrigens gut war und von Eliza selbst in den Pool geworfen wurde). Die Antwort ist natürlich: Look at Buffy. Look at Firefly. Joss ist the boss. Heissa.

Am Rande erwähnt: Stacy Scowley, auch eine Buffy-Alte, hat laut homepage eine kleine Rolle in Dollhouse.

Everyone's trying to get things rolling sooner rather than later.

I imagine you would like to do both but it sounds rather tough to do that with only 7 committed eps in your pocket (and oh, by the way, introduce us to whole new tv-world at the same time). Just wondering on the approach to the 7 becuse it could easily end up that the first seven set up a whoel new arc, ideally, or that the lack of any closure in ep 7 leads to a truncated overall product a la Firefly (ooohh it burns). Thankfully Serenity cured that feeling.

The show will be episodic and serialized-- meaning every week we'll be telling a story with a beginning, middle, and end, but every week we'll also be weaving in the serialized elements of the Big Story. Sometimes that'll be in smaller, subtle ways, other times those elements will be front and center.

It's interesting you bring up the whole 7 episode thing. We're all so into the show that we're not thinking about 7 as a possible stopping point (although it is gonna be a pretty damn cool ep, as only those Minear episodes can be). We're just rolling right along. Jed and Maurissa are breaking episode 8 as we write these words. We're not stopping, dammit! We're going for 100! More!

I’m not giving anything away — or at least I’m trying not to so I’m sorry if this reads cryptically. Dollhouse is genre — sci fi. As usual Whedon brings strong female leads, lots to think about and a great, action-filled story.

Spoilerfrei und ziemlich cool. Außerdem wird weiter unten auf das verlinkt, was ich anfangs für Drehbuch-, später dann für separat dafür geschaffene Casting-Sides gehalten habe. Ist wohl doch das Drehbuch (und somit natürlich schon... ziemlich spoilery), aber ob Boyd's three day stint in a van im final cut drin seind wird bleibt weiterhin fraglich...

Der Wikipedia-Eintrag für Dollhouse, an dem ich auch versuche mich konstruktiv zu beteiligen, hat nicht nur die völlig unbestätigte Info, dass Steven S. DeKnight mitproduzieren wird (DeKnight kennen wir als Story Editor der 6. Buffy-Staffel und Schreiberling so mancher Klassiker), sondern seit kurzem auch vier Namen des Drehbuchteams: Tracy Bellomo, Andrew Chambliss, Maurissa Tancharoen und Jed Whedon. Bellomo schrieb für Smallville, der Rest ist eher unbeschrieben, auch wenn Jed Whedon (verwandt mit Joss) sich einen Namen als Computerspiel-Soundtrack-Macher machte. Dass der jetzt dann plötzlich zum Schreibling mutiert, ist wohl unwahrscheinlich. Also wohl doch eher blödes Hörensagen nicht unwahrscheinlich.

Nachdem die letzte Woche etwas ruhig war bezüglich Dollhouse-Updates, kommt nun alles auf einmal: Harry Lennix (einer der ganz wenigen Gründe, die Matrix-Trilogie nicht in Grund und Boden zu schleudern, und auch ein ganz großer House-Gast) wurde als Boyd Langton engagiert, yeah. Der Pilot on the other hand ist nun geleaked. So richtig. Und wie.

Identity, self-determination, free will is both a blessing and a pain in the ass, The Next Generation's Data is a great TV character, Eliza Dushku is hot. What? Those first three at least are almost certainly themes.

Is Echo just a new name for Faith?
That's a negatory. Echo has a genius for contemplation and self-awareness that Faith couldn't begin to approach. Echo also has about 48 different faces to show the world, which gives her a good head start on Faith, who seemed to vary primarily between rage and desolation. In the first episode, we are shown that Echo is essentially like the Scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz—"If I only had a brain..."—but she's otherwise fully equipped with a soul, a rockin' bod, and a good, fearless heart.

Televisionary dreht sogar durch:

While I had extremely high expectations for Dollhouse (I always trust in the Joss), I was worried that, after all of the hype and hoopla, it wouldn't quite live up to my preconceived notions about the project. I am happy to say that not only were those expectations matched but they were exceeded. This isn't latter-day Alias by any stretch of the imagination: while there are still costume changes and choreographed fight sequences, it delves into bigger issues of morality and mortality and asks hard questions about the ethical ramifications of science and technology.

Yes, there is much more to Dollhouse than meets the eye and Whedon succeeds here by filling his script with a multitude of morally grey characters engaged in one of the most sickening and intriguing displays of human trafficking ever devised. I don't want to spoil anything but I will say that there there's an unexplained back story (referred to as Alpha) that will likely come into play down the line and the power structure within the Dollhouse is a fluctuating, living thing unto itself. As for the Dollhouse itself, it certainly didn't "look" anything like I expected it to based on the information that was trickling out during casting: it's not a draconian prison nor an icy SD-6-type operations hub; instead it's more like a serene, Japanese-influenced, high-tech spa for the Actives.

Vor allem dieser Artikel sollte unbedingt gelesen werden. Der macht Lust und stimmt froh.
