Sehr schick und cool-weird.

Seit jeher Joss-fans (siehe Buffy 7x06 "Him"), redet hier Kelley Deal über ihr schlechtes Gewissen bezüglich Dollhouse:

TNG: I know that you are a Joss Whedon fan, now that Dollhouse has finished its season….

KD: I’M A HUGE JOSS WHEDON FAN! As a matter of fact, I was talking to somebody on Pitchfork, just like chatting. This guy mentions Dollhouse and I was like, “I was just watching the first episode, and I couldn’t really get into it, I’m not sure.” The first guy was berating Dollhouse, saying how much he didn’t like it. I think I might have even said I was a latecomer to Buffy [the Vampire Slayer]. It had had been on for several years before I got into it. I just happened to get on re-runs. That’s when I started seeing it, every day four times a day. Before, I was not into Buffy and stuff. I saw on Pitchfork how I was completely dissing Dollhouse, and it really bothered me, because I’m a huge Joss Whedon fan. Have you ever watched Ace of Cakes?

TNG: Yeah, it’s based here in Baltimore.

KD: One of the girls there [has a shirt] that says “Joss Whedon is My Master”, or “Joss Whedon’s Bitch.” And I wanted to get a t-shirt and start wearing that with the hopes of apologizing to him.

TNG: You can apologize right now, with the Dollhouse season over…

KD: I didn’t see it.

TNG: Oh, bummer.

KD: We’ll I’m sure I’ll get it on DVD. What do you think? Did it get better or not?

TNG: I was lukewarm on the first few episodes, but it got epic. I think it was FOX’s fault that the first ones kind of failed. I think it’s a great show though.

KD: [To Kim] He says it’s amazing. Oh course it is. It’s Joss Whedon. Trust in Joss, ’cause he’s not gonna steer you wrong. Kim just said that Joss is gonna love the fact that we’re working on this for him.

TNG: Having already guest-starred on Buffy, would you consider being on Dollhouse

KD: Oh yeah. But I’m sure Joss is mad at me. He’s not going to want me on Dollhouse now.

TNG: I think he’d be lucky to have you guys, I mean you are the fucking Breeders.

KD: I hope so.

Zurück vom Urlaub, liebe Dollhouse Gemeinde, und ich darf euch sagen, Season 2 nähert sich in riesen Schritten.

• Die ersten Thumbnails der Promobilder von 2x01 "Vows" gibt's hier. Vollversionen gibt's sobald ich sie finde.
• On the set pics von Eliza (könnte Folge 2x02 oder 2x03 sein, je nachdem was sie grad drehen), gibt's hier. ETA: Yep, sind von 2x03, welche "Instinct" heißen wird.
• Dollhouse kommt nach Italien.
• Season 2 wird mit nem 2x01+02 Doublefeature am 20. Oktober auch schon in UK Premiere haben.
• Und die wunderbare Olivia Williams spricht mit uns hier.

In einem der TCA-Interviews der letzten Tage gibt er uns Einblick in den Zusammenhang zwischen "Epitaph One" und Season 2, sowie kleine Spoiler darüber, was Topher in der zweiten Staffel erwartet. Am Ende gibt er uns aber dann spoilerfree druckreife Zitate über Season 2, die man wirklich gerne hört:

"Look, it's a provocative show," Kranz said. "The technology, when you really choose to think about it and its consequences, is really provocative. We're definitely exploring that much more this season." The second season represents one last chance for Dollhouse to capture a sizable audience. "It's like second life, and we're really going for broke in the second season," Kranz said. "It's really going to be out there. It's really twisted. It's much darker. We're really taking advantage of the opportunity, so I'm pumped. Certainly it's getting more into the characters. They're no longer really stand-alone [episodes]."

Yum.

Ich bin übrigens jetzt für 10 Tage auf Urlaub, wundert Euch also nicht, wenn die Postingfrequenz zurückgeht. Ich verspreche nach der Rückkehr alles wichtige nachzuholen. :)

Lauter gute Neuigkeiten:

• Auf der derzeitigen TCA Tour wurden auch Chefetagen befragt, und Kevin Reilly und Peter Rice hatten auch was zu Joss zu sagen:
  
  “I don’t think he was having any fun and we were a big part of that, and ultimately once he hit his stride, I don’t think we spoke,” says Reilly. “It was an ambitious show. It wasn’t a straight ahead linear concept. I felt that struggle and challenged him on some things and he completely engaged on it, gave it thought and attempted to address it. I think it did very well and it never came down to ‘you’re trying to make me do a show I don’t want to do.’ It never came to that place. I can’t say enough good things about him.”
  
  Doch erstaunliche Ehrlichkeit, jawohl. Und was erwarten sie sich von Season 2 Ratings?
  
  "We want the same stability we had last year," says Reilly. "The same ratings would be just fine. We’re looking at the cume as well. I’d like to see it continue its creative consistency, which I believe it will and I want to see a show we can lock in to week in and week out."

• Die DVD knackt auf Anhieb die Top 10 der Verkaufscharts.
• Folge 2x03 hat ein, zwei Casting Calls zu bieten.

Wie die whedon-fans.de berichten, scheint es demnächst die (leider furchtbar synchronisierte) Deutsch-TV-Premiere von Firefly zu geben. Ab 12.9, Samstags um ca. 22:10 soll SuperRTL Whedons Space-Western ausstrahlen. Ob ein Dollhouse-Deal da bald nachgeschoben wird?

Here we go:

• Tim Minear schreibt Folge 2x02 und David Solomon führt Regie. Titel: "Belle Chose". Maurissa schwärmt vom Script, und die Folge wird Victor-heavy sein. Und Minear/Solomon war z.B. "Out of Gas".
• Mein unbestätigter Tip lautet übrigens, dass 2x04 (jetzt gerade) von Maurissa & Jed geschrieben wird.
