Mid-season, okay, aber auch half-a-season?

Beim imdb-Dollhouse-Forum ließ wer folgendes fallen:

13 episode order for 2009.

Der Link führte tatsächlich zu was:

FOX has officially ordered 13 episodes of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse for midseason.

And again: mid-season

Argh.

I'm told FBC has picked up Joss Whedon's new Dollhouse (20th Century Fox TV) for mid-season. Given his rabid Whedonesques, who don't take rejection well, I don't see how the network could have said no this time around.

Auch bei Variety steht was von Bestätigung:

Also coming in midseason -- and perhaps also on the night -- Joss Whedon's highly anticipated "Dollhouse," which already had an episodic order heading into the upfronts.

ive been hearing that they will heavily promote Fringe for the fall, while they will heavily promote Dollhouse for the winter. Apparently, Dollhouse will be put as either a lead-in or led-out for 24/American Idol. This is good news, and shows Fox’s faith in the series because they are putting it in with one of its three major hits (house, 24, american idol). If i had to choose between heavy promotion and a great timeslot midseason, and shared (but lets be honest: lesser) promotion with Fringe in the fall, in a so-so timeslot, i would definetly choose midseason. Many midseason shows have gone on to become huge hits ( grey’s anatomy) and i since as of now, everybody who has seen Dollhouse’s pilot script has given it stellar, and i mean stellar reviews (televisionary, watch with kristin etc.) i think that we should expect great things from Joss Whedon’s newest show

(Zur Erklärung: Fringe ist die neue J.J. Abrams-Show, die das große Fox-Hoffnungsträger-Kind für die neue Saison ist. Neben Dollhouse. Vor Dollhouse. Gegen Dollhouse.)

Außerdem kann mehr Zeit ne bessere Show bedeuten, und bessere Shows haben in meine naiven Weltbild bessere Überlebenschancen. Und wir verbleiben natürlich bei: Alles nur heftige Spekulation, the Big Day ist coming.

David Solomon

TITLE: Dollhouse (seven-episode order)
STUDIO: 20th Century Fox TV
TEAM: Joss Whedon (w), David Solomon (d)

Zu den Gustostückerln seiner Werke zählen "What's My Line?: Part 1", "The Prom", "Buffy vs. Dracula", "No Place Like Home", "The Weight of the World", "After Life" und "Hell's Bells". Außerdem hat er eine der schlichtweg ergreifendsten Firefly-Folgen, "Out of Gas", gedreht. Dazu Dollrific!:

Solomon did a one-episode stint on Firefly, directing the brilliant 'Out of Gas'—hands down my favorite 42 minutes of TV ever produced. In the DVD commentary, writer Tim Minear credits him with the success of the episode's three timeline structure, a big part of the overall success of the episode. I can't wait to see these two collaborate again.

I'm happy.

The Language-Thing

Because i noticed people are beginning to google-translate this blog, i wanted to explain: The main reason I write it in German is because right now... I kind of don't write that often about it. In this phase of production I mostly collect links from other sources. The original articles are of course in English, so feel free to use this blog as a link-archive. But when I write something meanigful (like the episode-reviews wil hopefully be, when Dollhouse starts to air), I just feel most comfortable writing it in German.

Of course, more info in English on Dollhouse can be found at dollverse, whedonesque and the dollhousetvforum.

Marti Noxon

I wonder why a writer would leave a successful tv show that brings in money for some years. But of course, if Joss had made her an offer to join "Dollhouse", it seems like a no-brainer.

dollverse.com fragt nach

...bezüglich des gestrigen Schocks:

We have checked with multiple people, and they all say the same thing: The Hollywood Reporter has it wrong.

15. Mai.

The air date will be confirmed next Thursday (the 15th). But as far as everybody is concerned right now, it's still looking at a Fall premiere.

Lustisch auch was Fox dazu sagt:

Our friends at Dollverse have been manning the phones (and emails) to investigate what the real premiere date of Dollhouse will be. Are they right or does the HR have it? Fall or mid-season?

One more week and we’ll all have confirmation, people!

Fox announces its pickups and new schedule on Thursday, May 15th at 4pm EST.

Doch Midseason?

Oh, Oh:

Fox's other high-profile new entry, Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse," which is still in production, is eyed for midseason.

Started a few weeks ago, the blog—which is featured at the bottom of their homepage—covers shows that the network is currently developing and the future of current shows.

"Future on Fox" nennt sicht das ganze, und die Selbstbeschreibung lautet:

Yes, this is FOX. And yes, we’re blogging about series that haven’t even been picked up yet. We’re excited about some pilots that are currently being produced and we figured that you might be too. While some of these shows will make it to our broadcast, some may not. This blog will cover both kinds. We’ll try to keep you updated with info that has already been announced as well as offer up some tidbits that you won’t find anywhere else.
